Juvenile plant foliage will be solid, and fenestrations will appear over time as the plant gets bigger and grows. Monstera adansonii is sometimes called 'Monstera friedrichsthalii', however Monstera adansonii is the accepted name. Some common names for this plant include Swiss Cheese Plant and Swiss Cheese Vine. Monstera adansonii is very commonly confused with Monstera obliqua. The obliqua species is very rare and adansonii is often mistakenly labeled as obliqua.
